DNS queries can reveal which domains a device is trying to reach. dnscry.pt supports DNSCrypt, DNS-over-TLS (DoT), and DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH), which encrypt those queries between your device and the resolver.

Because your DNS traffic should belong to you, not your ISP, your government, or third-party trackers.

Why Encrypted DNS Matters

Every time you visit a website, your device asks a DNS server to translate a domain name into an IP address. Without encryption, these DNS queries are:

  • Visible to your ISP
  • Collectable by advertisers
  • Interceptable for censorship
  • Manipulatable for phishing or redirection

Encrypted DNS reduces this exposure

When using our DNS resolvers, your DNS traffic becomes:

  • Encrypted: DNS queries are encrypted between your device and the resolver.
  • Uncensored & Unfiltered: We do not intentionally block domains, redirect, or rewrite DNS answers.
  • Anonymized DNSCrypt support: All dnscry.pt resolvers can also be used as DNSCrypt relays.
  • Secure with DNSSEC: DNSSEC is enabled to help detect forged or manipulated DNS responses.
